SMART LIGHTNING LOGGER (AT-004R)

Real-time information for lightning protection systems

SMART LIGHTNING LOGGER is installed in the down conductor of a lightning rod to monitor lightning strikes captured by the protection system. Using IoT communication, it reports each impact and its characteristics as it occurs.

Real-time information helps maintenance teams check a lightning protection installation after a strike and assess whether inspection or repairs are required.

Key features and benefits

Real-time strike alertsProvides notification when a lightning strike is registered, supporting timely inspection and response.
Strike characterizationRecords key electrical parameters and the date and time of each detected impact.
Centralized monitoringSupports oversight of one or multiple installations located at different sites.
Compact, autonomous designIntegrates the sensor, electronics, IoT communication, and autonomous power supply into a single module.

How the system works

01 / MONITOR

Monitors electrical activity in the lightning protection system’s down conductor.

02 / TRANSMIT

Transfers recorded lightning strike data through IoT communications to AT-CLOUD.

03 / NOTIFY

Processes data and presents information and alerts through the CONNECT platform.

CONNECT platform and monitoring

Strike data is sent to AT-CLOUD for processing and is made available through the CONNECT platform. The manufacturer describes multiple alert and management channels, including a private web portal, mobile app, SCADA integration, and email notifications.

The platform also provides equipment status information and options to generate PDF reports and download CSV files for further analysis.
